Crossing Your Jordan: A Devotional for Women Standing on the Edge of Promise
Scripture Focus:
âConsecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.â
âJoshua 3:5
đ¸ Devotion:
There comes a moment when youâve walked through the wilderness long enoughâŚ
A moment where God leads you to the edge of deep waterâ
Not to scare you, but to set you up for something sacred.
Thatâs where the daughters of Israel stood.
Generations of wandering behind them, the Promised Land in front of them,
and the Jordan Riverâat flood stageârushing between.
But God didnât say:
âBe strong.â
âBe brave.â
âTry harder.â
He said:
âConsecrate yourselves.â
Not striveâsurrender.
Not hustleâholiness.
Thatâs where you might find yourself too.
At your own Jordan.
Still tender from what youâve walked through.
Still fasting. Still healing. Still listening.
And the water looks deep.
But hear this:
You are not called to cross in your own strengthâ
You are called to follow His presence.
The same God who parted the Red Sea to deliver you from bondage
will now part the Jordan to usher you into inheritance.
Heâs not asking for perfection.
Heâs asking for consecration.
For you to lay it all down and say:
âIf You say move, Iâll stepâeven if the waters havenât moved yet.â
And when you do, just like He did for Joshuaâs generationâ
the waters will part.
đ Reflection Questions:
What have you been carrying that God is asking you to release before crossing?
What would consecrating yourself today look like practically?
Can you trust God enough to step before you see?
đş Prayer:
Father,
I consecrate my heart today.
Cleanse my mind, quiet my soul, and steady my steps.
Help me release the weight I was never meant to carry.
Even if I canât see the breakthrough yet, I will follow Your presence.
Make a way in deep watersâbecause I know You already went before me.
In Jesusâ name,
Amen.
⨠Daily Declaration:
I am not afraid of deep waters.
I have been set apart for such a time as this.
I will cross. I will claim the promise.
God is going ahead of me. The river will part.
