Scripture Focus: Joshua 3:5 (NIV)

Devotional Thought
As you enter this 40-day fast, this is your Jordan moment. Just like Israel stood on the edge of transition—leaving the wilderness behind and stepping into the Promised Land—you are standing on holy ground, preparing your heart to cross over into something new, anointed, and divinely ordained.
Before the miraculous can happen, God says “consecrate yourself.” Fasting is your consecration. It’s your “yes” to being set apart. It’s letting go of distractions, old mindsets, habits, and anything that has tried to hold you in the wilderness longer than necessary.
Joshua didn’t tell the people how God would move—he simply told them to prepare, because God would move.
Let that settle in your spirit:
👉 You may not know how—but He will.
👉 You may not know when—but He promised.
This fast is a line in the sand. A spiritual crossing. And you’re not going back.

Reflection Questions
What do I need to leave behind before I cross into this next season? (fears, control, unforgiveness, distractions)
In what areas do I need to consecrate myself today—mind, body, spirit?
Am I willing to move even when I don’t see the full picture?
🛐
Prayer for Preparation
Lord, today I consecrate myself before You.
I lay down every distraction, sin, burden, and doubt that has followed me through the wilderness. I choose obedience over understanding. I choose faith over fear. I choose You over everything else. I give You permission to search my heart and remove what doesn’t look like You. Cleanse me, purify me, set me apart.
As I begin this 40-day fast, I prepare my spirit to follow Your presence—just as Israel followed the Ark. Lead me, guide me, stretch me, and transform me. I believe You are about to do amazing things, and I want to be ready.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
